Boost your confidence with a glowing appearance.

Facial aesthetics are clinically safe injectables that are used to either block nerve signals to muscles to relax facial expressions or to define, re-volumise and accentuate facial contours.

These are tasks that dentists are exceptionally well-qualified to perform thanks to their knowledge of facial anatomy and their dexterity in performing delicate treatments on a daily basis.

We do not make false promises: we cannot take decades off your appearance, but we can soften some of the effects of time, stress and work.

What are Facial Aesthetics?

They are procedures that make subtle improvements to the face, but equally big improvements to self-esteem, confidence and mood.

At the most basic level, facial aesthetics are small, non-surgical treatments that make noticeable but subtle enhancements to your appearance.

They can help mask or even delay the passage of time, giving the face, and the person, a small boost, thereby improving confidence as much as they improve a smile or skin.

We believe that facial aesthetics should make a difference but without being overtly noticeable. The effect should be attractive, not alarming.

Anti-Ageing Injections

Anti-ageing injections can be administered on various areas around the face to relax the skin and soften the effects of stress, ageing and emotions.

These injections temporarily block the signals from nerves to the tiny underlying muscles, as it’s the tightening of those muscles being the cause of the unwanted lines.

Dermal Fillers

Contained in many topical facial moisturisers, hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps keep the skin hydrated and looking healthy, but one whose levels diminish with age.

Dermal fillers work by replenishing hyaluronic acid in selected areas.

The fillers add volume and rejuvenate the skin and can even be used to fill in deep facial lines or reshape features by smoothing from within.

Over time the fillers dissolve but the effects can be visible for up to nine months, making this a treatment with benefits that last for a good period of time.

Combat Ageing

Although dermal fillers are often used to combat signs of ageing such as lines and unwanted folds they are also used to treat non-age-related conditions such as scarring or acne marks. Dermal fillers can even be used to accentuate features such as lips and cheekbones.

We would again stress the need for expert application. You are smoothing out and filling the most prominent part of your body – your face, if the effects are to look natural it has to be done by someone who is skilled and experienced.

Incredibly, treatments are becoming available in high street stores, looking to answer the demand for convenience and affordability.

The physiology of the face is complex, if treatments aren’t administered correctly and adverse reactions occur, you want to be in the hands of a trained medical professional who has access to all the tools and medications required to reverse the treatment as soon as possible.

This could lead to much more money spent down the line to correct any problems created, not to mention the psychological impact.

FAQs

People often want to know the timescales – these are treatments that are quick to administer, create minimal discomfort and require almost no recovery time.
The effects are instant in the case of dermal fillers, while anti-wrinkle injections typically take a couple of days to make an impact, with the full effect visible after a couple of weeks.

How long will it last? Expand Collapse

The effects then last for months – up to five months for the anti-wrinkle treatments and nine months for dermal fillers. Of course, the effects fade over time, which may put some people at ease, as the face changes over time. Treatment from years earlier might no longer give the desired look.

Instead, the treatments last for a good length of time but as they fade, a decision can be made. Should the initial treatment simply be repeated or has the face changed a little with time prompting a subtle change to how fillers and injections are used?

For those afraid of pain, another benefit of these treatments taking place in a clinical setting is that local anaesthetic can be administered when a topical anaesthetic is not sufficient and the highest quality instruments are used to ensure treatment is as painless as possible.

It is perfectly acceptable to decide against treatment after your initial consultation, we want patients to be happy, not feel forced into having injections or fillers.

We even recommend a “cool-down” period after the consultation before booking certain treatments so that you have enough time to consider whether this is the right option for you.
